The documentation of materials is done at several levels to obtain and preserve the information required for further expertise-based and scholarly processing of objects: a variety of digitized sketches, photodocumentation, microscopic and 3D records.
Conservation and restoration procedures are recorded in the S++ system. Most of the field research is documented by the Conservation and Restoration Department’s staff. The highest possible precision in the development of any site’s archaeological topography is accomplished by keeping abreast of the latest guidelines and the state-of-the-art technological solutions and collaborating with land survey bureaus.
