The Archaeological Museum in Split invites you to the presentation of the children’s publication “Salonitan Landscape”, which will take place on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at 11:00 AM at the archaeological site of Salona (Tusculum).

This publication is the first in a planned series through which the Archaeological Museum in Split aims to introduce children to Salona and topics related to cultural and historical heritage through play, exploration and creative interpretation of space.

“Salonitan Landscape” combines archaeology, poetry, and illustration in an accessible and imaginative way, bringing the rich past of ancient Salona closer to its youngest visitors. The verses were written by Jerko Rošin, while the illustrations were created by Dijana Dora Rošin.

This series of publications is part of the Archaeological Museum in Split’s ongoing development of educational content intended for children, families and educational institutions. During 2025 alone, the museum organised 304 educational programmes with more than 5,000 participants. This publication emerged directly from that experience as a new tool for interpreting cultural heritage to younger generations.

Alongside the publication presentation, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Salona as a unique open-air space for learning, exploration and creative engagement with archaeological heritage.
